Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Manuscript Writing

SIDIYA: Jurnal Peumaju Budaya permits the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) as an aid in the manuscript writing process, subject to the following conditions:

1. Transparency of Use
Authors are required to disclose the use of AI tools (if any) in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, including the name of the tool, its version, and the purpose of use (e.g., language editing, grammar checking, or drafting assistance).

2. Prohibition on Authorship
AI tools cannot be listed as an author or co-author of the manuscript, as they cannot bear scientific and ethical responsibility for the content of the work.

3. Author Responsibility
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the entire manuscript content, including any portions generated with the assistance of AI. Authors are required to verify the correctness of data, citations, and references generated by AI tools.

4. Prohibition on Use for Data Analysis and Key Findings
AI tools may not be used to directly generate research data, primary analysis results, or research conclusions without verification and accountability from the authors.

5. Violations
Dishonest disclosure regarding the use of AI, or the use of AI resulting in plagiarism, data fabrication, or inaccurate information, will be treated as a violation of publication ethics as set out in JKR's Publication Ethics policy.

This policy refers to best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the use of generative AI tools in scholarly publishing.

Kebijakan Penggunaan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI Policy)
SIDIYA: Jurnal Peumaju Budaya mengakui perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) dan alat bantu berbasis AI (seperti ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, atau sejenisnya) dalam proses penulisan ilmiah. Namun, untuk menjaga integritas akademis, keaslian riset, dan etika publikasi, pengelola menetapkan kebijakan sebagai berikut:
  1. AI Bukan Penulis (AI cannot be an Author): Alat bantu AI tidak memenuhi kriteria kepenulisan karena tidak dapat bertanggung jawab atas keakuratan, integritas, dan orisinalitas isi artikel. Penulis manusia bertanggung jawab penuh atas seluruh isi manuskrip.
  2. Batasan Penggunaan: AI hanya diizinkan untuk digunakan sebagai alat bantu teknis, seperti meningkatkan keterbacaan bahasa (copyediting), memperbaiki tata bahasa (grammar checking), atau membantu pengumpulan literatur awal. AI tidak boleh digunakan untuk menghasilkan data riset, analisis data, menarik kesimpulan, atau menulis draf substansi artikel secara mandiri.
  3. Kewajiban Deklarasi (Mandatory Disclosure): Jika penulis menggunakan alat bantu AI dalam proses penulisan (di luar perbaikan tata bahasa standar), penulis wajib mendeklarasikannya secara transparan di dalam manuskrip. Deklarasi ini diletakkan pada bagian akhir artikel sebelum Daftar Pustaka.
